• All France and Italy tours that include an indoor activity, a museum or an archeological park visit (this includes access to the Vatican Museums as well) it is now National Law in both countries, to present a Covid-19 vaccination card OR negative Covid-19 test result from the past 48 hrs accompanied by your personal ID to the local authorities for all adults over the age of 12.

• It is now possible to get a rapid Covid-19 test at the Rome's Fiumicino airport when departing to return to the US.
  Everyone is  required to pre-register online: www.adr.it/digital-health-pass 
  The test area is located in the arrivals hall of Terminal 3. The service is operational from 00:00 to 16:00.
  The cost of the service is €20.Payment for the tests can be made at the airport by credit card, debit card or directly by smartphone, using contactless payment apps.

United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and American Airlines have added flights to Italy with protocols for coronavirus testing as Italy opens to leisure travelers from the United States for the first time in more than a year.

Travelers can now enjoy their trip without the need to quarantine when they arrive on Covid-Tested international flights between the United States and Italy.  

U.S. travelers to Italy must take a COVID-19 test no more than 48 hours before boarding and again on arrival. They may also be required to take a test at the airport when they arrive. If the test result is negative, travelers won’t need to quarantine in Italy.

*Tip: for flights to Rome, it is recommended to book a rapid antigen test (€ 20,00 results within 20 mins) ahead of time before their arrival. More info here.

To return to the United States, travelers must present a negative test taken no more than 72 hours before departure, even if they have been vaccinated.

Italy hits 1 million Covid-19 vaccinations in just 19 days. It ranks first in the EU for the number of people vaccinated.

(New York, 18 January 2021) "Italy is the first country in the European Union to have surpassed 1 million vaccinations, with a total of nearly 2% of its population having now received the vaccine. The destination currently ranks 6th in the world for the number of vaccinations and 2nd in Europe."

Italy kicked off Covid-19 vaccinations on December 27th 2020. Most countries in Europe have started the vaccination process as well and this brings hope to resume traveling around Spring 2021.

The first U.S. Covid-19 vaccinations outside of clinical trials began Monday, Dec 14th 2020, in the US. Health care workers and nursing home residents are among the first to begin receiving the coronavirus vaccine after the Food and Drug Administration authorized the first vaccination for emergency use.

Starting on December 9th 2020, travelers flying to Rome FCO from NEW YORK CITY will not need to observe the 14 day quarantine period as they will be required to present a negative COVID-19 test before boarding the flight, and they will have to take a rapid result COVID-19 test as soon as they land in Rome.

​

This measure, together with the vaccine available in Italy starting January 2021 (the Government states the entire Italian population will be vaccinated by the end of the Summer 2021), will allow travel and tourism to slowly restart with the new year.
